Jeffrey N. Hardy

Owner of Bodyworks Gym and Karate School since 1980. Bodyworks quickly became known for hard core weight training and karate. The power lifting team gained much notoriety and success in local, regional and even national competitions. The karate program flourished and like the power lifting team, was successful in a variety of tournament venues, one of the most prominent being the annual Quebec Tournament. Mr hardy Studied Shaolin Kenpo under Dave Kenney and later, Gene Gaudreau, attaining the rank of 4th  degree Black Belt.  He Studied Tai Chi Chuan and Northern Praying Mantis Kung Fu under Michael Macaris and began teaching both systems at Bodyworks in the late 1980’s. He Studied Aikido with Michael Donnelly during the 90’s and offered classes at Bodyworks under his instructorship. Mr Hardy participated in trainings at the Lethal Force Institute in the late 80’s and 90’s under Massad Ayoob with certifications in Defensive Tactics and the Kubotan, and Studied Parker Kenpo under Steven White at Manchester Karate Studio attaining the rank of second-degree black belt. There he also trained in Kenpo Ground Fighting and went on to study Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Chris Goduti and Scott Lewis in the mid-2000s’. Bodyworks was especially known for nearly three decades of hosting the “Bodyworks Invitational Karate Tournaments,” drawing students from schools throughout the NE region and Canada. Demonstrations, breaking and self-defense exhibits along with Escrima, Jiu Jitsu and Tai Chi competition made these events truly unique.

Bodyworks continues to thrive in its expansive location and has become a long-standing staple in and around the Concord area. The gym has evolved to meet the needs of young athletes and adults, providing expertise in nutrition and customized training regimens. The karate program still focuses on building positive character traits and skills through high energy and structured classes with 2nd  and even 3rd  generation families.

“My philosophy is based on positive growth thru the commitment to goals and the continuity of self-disciplined training, leading to black belt excellence in the dojo and out in our community.”
